Fashion Food Outside the Classroom Travel

Holiday wish list

The holidays are coming up and as restrictions lift, I am starting to think about life outside of the classroom and after isolation. Here is a list of what I cannot wait to do during the term break. What is on your list?

Brunch at Mr. Pilgrim Cafe

Located at Semaphore, Mr. Pilgrim Cafe is a favorite of mine and before going away, I would drive down for a coffee and a walk every now and again on the weekend for some down time. Their kitchen has now re-open and with one of the best coffee offerings around, just go. Try the corn fritters which are served with bacon for a good feed before a walk and a spot of shopping. Order multiple coffees and remember to book a table.

Go to the Zoo

Animals make me rather happy and wandering around the Zoo is high on the list. Saying ‘hi’ to the penguins, meerkats and pandas will bring a smile to my face and being outside will be a bonus. The Zoo has asked that bookings be made online so be sure to do so before going.

Snorkel somewhere new

One of the things that I love about travelling is snorkeling so it is time to find a place were I can indulge in this activity locally. Having visited Port Noarlunga already, a sinkhole in Mount Gambier or Second Valley on the Fleurieu Peninsula are on the top of the list. Now to find a good pair of reef shoes!

Visit Kangaroo Island

Horse riding, snorkeling and boat rides. Gin, cheese and seafood. Burnt hills, clean beaches and resilient creatures. There have been so many reminders about the experiences, food and natural wonders that Kangaroo Island has to offer and I am so excited to visit soon.

Shop for new threads at Kalila & NaMOI Designs

Kalila has remained open during these trying times and I cannot wait to give her a high five (even if it is an air high five) and grab a new top. Her designs are easy to style, easy to wash and easy on the pocket, making them my favourite teacher wardrobe essentials, with at least four out of my five teacher outfits featuring one of her creations each week. Expect versatile items, a thoughtful approach to business and a good banter when you visit.

What can’t you wait to do?
