Welcome!

This is a space dedicated to exploring life inside and outside of the classroom.

After a decade in the classroom, I hope to share ideas that can help, inspire and provide reassurance to others who are spending their days teaching while also showcasing the things outside the classroom that make me smile. I believe that teaching is a lifestyle and as educators, we need to nurture all aspects of our lives so we can continue to effectively help those in our community.

I have taught ACARA English, History and Food Technology in the middle years as well as Stage 1 and Stage 2 SACE subjects while working in various Leadership positions in both curriculum and well-being. As a Leader of Learning, I have had the privilege of working with teachers to improve their practice while delving into the world of Project Based Learning. Through this experience, student-agency and co-construction have become important elements in my approach to teaching and learning as they champion the student above all else.

Justice Education also floats my boat. Equipping communities to be informed change makers drives me to keep teaching and has led me to want to share ideas as to how we can best advocate for justice in education.

In 2020, I travelled around South America for 2 months (COVID cut this dream short) and I started my Masters in Education in Semester Two, while working as a contract teacher.

This space aims to reflect the fact that students are at the center of all that we do while acknowledging the importance of professional development and self-care for teachers.

This is a space that values respectful and inclusive interactions at all times.
