Inside the Classroom Outside the Classroom

What was that?

After planning 2020 and then planning 2020 again when COVID hit, Semester 2 was full of excuses.

I was determined to keep sharing ideas about teaching inside and outside of the classroom during Semester 2 but I was full on excuses. Securing a contract and starting to study at the same time seemed so doable, however, that is all I could do and other plans were put to the bottom of the list. After returning to my former school, a change in relationship status and remembering how to be a student again… I am back.

Here are three highlights from the many months that have passed:

Travelling locally

Semester 2 last year saw me travel as far as Henley Beach Road but this year has seen a few more adventures. Robe, Goolwa and Melbourne have been visited so far in 2021 and it has been wonderful to discover new places, new food and new ways of travelling in this COVID way of normal. Where have you visited lately?

Learning about leadership

I started my Masters at The University of Adelaide last year, successfully completing two subjects while working part time. It was a cathartic experience for many reasons but rediscovering my love for learning outside of the classroom was energising. Studying continues in 2021 and while I am only attempting a subject at a time, it still feels good to be moving forward. I will share some key musings soon.

Food, food and food

I just love food. While the COVID kilos plague many, I am embracing my love for brunching, drinking cocktails at lunch and eating dinner twice. New finds and old mates will be shared soon.
