Fashion Outside the Classroom

What’s in my teacher bag?

Be ready to go inside the classroom as well as outside of the classroom with a thoughtfully packed teacher bag. Let’s take a look at my essentials.

The Bag

While I love a good backpack, I felt I needed to up my teacher bag game a few years back and opted for something slightly more mature. A large, black bag is a favourite for many as it carries all the things and is easy to keep clean. I may use my teacher bag during the holidays as well because it just looks so bloody good. I like to jazz it on the weekend by adding a scarf. Target is my go to store.

The Removal Pouch

When you’re using multiple bags during the week and weekends, the removal pouch is a winner as you can pack it with your essentials and move them from one bag to another easily. Ruby, Typo and Sportsgirl always have good pouches or pencil cases to use. What’s in mine?

Face Spray

Mecca Face Mist is refreshing, helps to control an oily face and smells delicious. When I’m about to tackle Year 11 English after lunch on a Friday, two spritz of this and I’m ready.

Hand Cream

Before doing anything on the laptop, I moisturise. Invest in a fancy one and indulge everyday right at your desk. This one was a gift from a friend but I would buy it in a heart beat as it’s light and nourishing.

Lip Balm and Boring Stuff

It doesn’t look pretty but after hours in an air conditioned classroom, it’s your best mate. Extremely well priced and works wonders on cracked lips. Add bandaids, paracetamol and hair ties too because you know you’ll need them at some point.

The Diary

I use to rely solely on my phone for personal appointments and my Outlook calendar for teacher related duties but a small paper diary has merged the worlds together and I have found it easier to manage. Kaisercraft has a great selection and there are a number of teachers developing planners these days.
